Entangled Lives

When two lives entwine, can they ever be untangled?

Like a ball of string having been unravelled and attacked by a cat, no matter how hard you try, that ball will never be the same as before.

My old therapist sat on the table the other side of the cage. We both pretended the ball was pre-cat, but the air around us had changed - permanently. Like a cat waiting to pounce on the ball of string once more.
